Even though the luxury house had a kind of revival in 2017, its turnovers and activity are decreasing since 2016.
Lanvin’s people will not comment on what is happening but they still confirmed a found injection by its most important shareholder at the beginning of the year 2018.
What happened? Albert Elbaz, Lanvin’s former artistic director resigned and was replaced by Olivier Lapidus, to create the next 2018 Fall/Winter collection. Unfortunately, the two shareholders, Shaw-Lan Wang (who has 75% of the company’s shares) and Ralph Bartel, did not agree on his artistic style and Bartel left the table of the administration council he was part of since July 2017.
The collection did not work so well as the red dress designed by Olivier Lapidus did not attract the public. Therefore, the luxury house had trouble selling its creations and seems to have a lot of stock left.
Will this new found injection help this House rise again and move on from this dark moment? Let’s hope so.
