Michelin stars are a standart that every restaurant tries to achieve. A Michelin star (or more) guarantees quality and sophistication. The Michelin restaurant reviewers are a picky bunch. After visiting a restaurant they write a whole memorandum describing each and every aspect of their visit. The Michelin star is given only after a meeting of the reviewers if they have all had an outstanding experience. The reviewers only look at the quality, technique, personality and consistency of the food. Interior design and atmosphere are not a part of the Michelin star judging, but the Michelin guide gives an insight in which places are more casual and which deserve a night of dressing up.
