Louis Moinet might not be the most recognizable name in watchmaking, but the true enthusiasts know him as the inventor of chronograph. Nowadays the Louis Moinet watchmaking company has made some of the most unique watches in the world – a set of four timepieces with lunar meteorites called “Meteoris”. As the meteorites from the Moon are rare phenomena, they cost more than gold and platinum taken together. This 2000-year-old lunar meteorite is used to display the lunar phases in an extremely complex mechanism with complications such as minute repeater, perpetual calendar and mono-pusher column-wheel chronograph. The set of four watches costs more than 4 million euros. But that is a small price for wearing a piece of the moon around your wrist.
