A big part of buying a Luxury product is the experience during the purchase. It is not only about the product anymore, people want more than that. Luxury houses are more focusing on the in-store experience, to distinguish themselves from other Luxury brands. The thing they always offer are private shopping sessions, personalized styling and first-class customer service. To make the shopping experience even more special, the Luxury houses make use of technology’s such as Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality. An example of Augmented Reality is the ‘smart mirrors’. The smart mirror allows clients to virtually try on clothes and change the colors of the clothes they are trying. It is not only possible with clothes, but also with makeup and shoes. These Augmented reality mirrors are already used by LVMH and L’Oréal. Another example of technology used in Luxury is developed by Euclid Analytics, a startup which tracks smartphone signals across the store. With this technology they help brands understand how clients move inside the store and the behavior of them. This technology is backed by Groupe Arnault, the controlling shareholder of LVMH.
Making use of technologies like this will help Luxury brands to attract more clients and make the experience of a purchase more intense.
