The French luxury house was created in 1970 by Kenzo TAKADA. He is a Japanese designer. Thanks to his career in fashion in Paris he was recognised because of its Asian and Japanese style.
The first theme of his first boutique was Jungle Jap, inspired and decorated in a jungle decor.
In 1983, he started designing men and women’s clothing but also kids and home collections 4 years later. The LVMH group purchased the brand in 1993.
The Japanese designer created in summer 2014 a unisex capsule with a slogan (“No fish no nothing”) on t-shirts and sweatshirts. The money earned will be give to a foundation in order to protect oceans worldwide. Also with this charity campaign, the brand created a digital pop-up store in Paris and a has tag #NoFishNoNothing.
The brand is not only a luxury house but also a brand that cares a lot about sustainability for now and the next generation.
