In 2013, the mythic Chanel N°5 perfume celebrated its 90th anniversary. If it is the most sold in the world, it is certainly thanks to its quality, but also to its faces. Chanel N°5 is perhaps the most internationally known and recognized and it owes it to its famous advertising campaigns orchestrated around personalities which it is identified.
The first one to have embodied the perfume is Coco Chanel herself. It was in 1937 during a press campaign for the women’s magazine Harper’s Bazaar.
Then, over time, the most beautiful women of the world have successively represented the image of the famous fragrance: Some Anglo-Saxon such as Lauren Hutton, Candice Bergen, Ali MacGraw, Jean Shrimpton, Cheryl Tiegs, Nicole Kidman, but also French beauties like Catherine Deneuve, Carole Bouquet, Vanessa Paradis and Audrey Tautou have incarnated in front of the greatest photographers the mythical world of this fragrance. More recently, Brad Pitt embodied the legendary fragrance that created the event. Today, the famous model, Gisele Bündchen is the ambassador of Chanel No. 5.
To note, Marilyn Monroe has never been the face of Chanel N°5, but she has made the biggest and best form of advertising declaring in 1953 that she was sleeping only with few drops of Chanel N°5.
