The « café des deux moulins » bar

It is a well known cafe of the neighborhood and its inhabitants. Located in Montmartre, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, this place became emblematic thanks to the film « Le fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain », released in 2001 and directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. In this film, the main actress (Audrey Tautou) is a waitress in a cafe, where this place served as decors. We also find in the film Mathieu Kassovitz in the second role as well as Jamel Debbouze. The music of the film is composed by Yann Tiersen.

Accustomed to film shoots, this coffee contains the essence of the neighborhood. Located just above the moulin rouge, it is all the inhabitants of the district who have made the habit of coming to have a coffee. Its name also refers to two mills: the red mill and the one of the galette, both very close.

Here you can enjoy the French charm, sometimes in the company of celebrities who have become accustomed to coming to lunch. Its popular atmosphere is revealed at nightfall, as the bar is very crowded in the evening.
