A Little Bit of History
In January 2012, the hotel complex opened its doors after a collaboration between Starwood Hotels and the architectural firm Sieger Suarez Architecture.
The decor was completely made by the international designer : Yapu Pushelberg.
The story of St Regis began during the golden period in New York City, the “Gilded Age” in which was formed the first aristocracy of the country. One of the most remarkable figures of this company was the matriarch Caroline Astor’s famous Astor family. Visionary and stubborn, that was called “The” Mrs. Astor established the first real expression of New York society by sorting on the flap those she rubbed, known as the “400”.
Her son, Colonel John Jacob Astor IV, devoted himself later to realize its vision of a private residence offering the latest technological advances of the epoch and refined touches like a butler service.
The first St. Regis hotel opens then its doors in New York and became a synonym for a new era of society reception and notable names who personifies luxury and elegance.
The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort, Miami Beach, awarded the coveted Forbes five-star and AAA five-diamond awards.
The AAA Five Diamond award is similar to a Five Star rating on a hotel. However, AAA chose to use diamonds instead of stars. AAA Five Diamond Award is the highest level of the AAA Diamond Ratings System for restaurants and lodgings administered by AAA (formally known as the American Automobile Association).
