On the 18th of September, the Rugby World Cup began on our screens. On the occasion of the most anticipated sporting event of the year,
brands are racing, and among them, few luxury Houses.
In 2007, for the last Rugby World Cup, Chanel had designed black and white oval balls in rubber.
This year, the famous House created a series of four rugby balls, one white, one burgundy, one navy and one black. This time, they was in quilted leather with the logo of the fashion House.
For the first time, Louis Vuitton decide this year to collaborate with this famous cup. The have signed the creation and the making of the trunk that will carry the prestigious Webb Ellis Cup, the award given to the team who won the World Cup.
Handmade in the historical Louis Vuitton workshops in Asnières, Louis Vuitton teams carried out a meticulous and customized case to accomodate the trophy on a platter of gold and silver.
This is a good way to the luxury brands to launch their new collection and make a good advertisement.
