Born in 1972 in Jarandilla de la Vera, Spain, Quique began his career as a chef in 1986. He started to work at the age of 14 in the kitchen and was very much influenced, almost French chefs with very different culinary trajectories from the one he was working on at that time. This sparked an interest in food that went beyond self nutrition alone. At 18, he began visiting Spain’s best gourmet restaurants of the day.
His restaurant “Quique Dacosta Restaurante”, previously known as El Poblet(where he worked in 1988), initially offered Castilian food which later evolved to local sea food. Throughout the late 80s and early 90s, Quique Dacosta supervised the combination of different culinary styles to create a new Valencian cuisine.
2011 was the year for the consolidation of a new style of cooking. He developed a memory of taste through his innovative cuisine. To create using native harvests as a leitmotif of his cuisine.
He owns several restaurants in Spain. His restaurant “Quique Dacosta Restaurant” situated in Denia has a 3 Michelin Star and is the place to stop while visiting the region.
