Most Expensive Chess

Most Expensive Chess

First question I want to ask you before giving more details about this is:

How much would you spend on a nice chessboard? I would guess $50 or maybe $100 – $200.

But believe it or not there are people that would spend something like 9.8 Million Dollars, to obtain this chess, which makes this world’s most expensive set ever created.

The name for this marvelous piece of art is: Jewel Royal Chess Set, which was created in Great Britain and commissioned by the Royal Jewel Company.

You are probably wondering – What makes this the most expensive chess set in the world? Well … let me explain you; It is made of gold and platinum, it has diamonds, emeralds, rubies, pearls and sapphires. The king piece weights 165.2 grams of 18 carat yellow gold and has a spiraling mid-section graced by 73 rubies and 146 diamonds.

So for those who enjoy playing this strategic game here’s one more reason to get this amazing set and for the ones who like to posses a beautiful and unique piece for decorations purposes this will definitely be the subject of many conversations.

I’m personally not a chess player but if you asked me if I would mind having this at my home my answer would be – YES.
