The French group Kering (previously PPR) run by François-Henri Pinault is one of the most important actors of the sustainable development within the luxury sector. In 2012 Kering announced its key targets in terms of sustainability which the group wants to achieve by 2016. Among them we can find many points that aim the provenance of materials used by the brands owned by Kering group. Some examples are: obtained without harm on local communities gold and diamonds, leather, fur and precious skins from verified suppliers and recyclable in at least 50% paper and packagings.
In addition to this, in 2009 Kering founded its own foundation which focuses on equality of women’s rights around the world. The motto “Stop violence. Improve women’s lives.” presents two main objectives of the organisation.
