Jeager-LeCoultre Reverso: the story of the emblematic timepiece

The Swiss brand created a unique model of timepiece, which is a bracelet and a watch: the Reverso. Flashback to 1931, to the creation of this unique watch.

This watch has been created not only for its sumptuous aspect: it has born in a British Polo Club of Colonial India. By this time, a polo player who has broken the glass of his timepiece during a match, challenged Jacques-David LeCoultre to create a watch robust enough to handle the choc occasioned during a Polo Match. This is how Jacques-David LeCoultre, created a mechanism that could turn over easily, and Aflred Chauvot designed a casing for Mister LeCoultre’s movement.

From the Latin “Reverso” that means “I’m turning myself on”, the watch has been the most sold product of the brand, and has been its masterpiece.
