Guerlain is a French perfume house, launched in 1828 by Pierre Francois Pascal Guerlain (Wikipedia, 2018). Besides perfume, Guerlain also sells make-up and skincare. Guerlain has one main store (flagship) which is located at the Champs-Elysee, Paris. Besides the products, Guerlain also show its heritage on the first floor. Customers can visit the work office from Pierre Guerlain here, which makes this historical store really special. I visited this store, to talk with employee Rémy about this beautiful luxury House.
- Who are the core clients in this store?
A lot of various people. A lot of tourist from every continent visit this store every week of the year, but also Parisian people and famous people like Madonna, Celiné Dion and the woman of Macron (who always buy her powder here) are clients. For this famous people, we offer them service upstairs to make sure they feel comfortable. Also Angelina Jolie visited this store more than once. She comes here for every new collection launch.
- What makes this store special?
This is a flagship store, and also the most historical store from Guerlain. Pierre Marino who created some of the most beautiful boutiques in the world, also created this store. This store offers besides the products and the beautiful appearance also a lot of heritage. I think that is what makes this store special.
- What is the most sold item in this store?
I cannot mention one item, I think everything is most sold here. There is not one specific item here which is by far most sold.
- Do you also have men clients in this store? Because all the products (make-up, skincare and perfumes) are focused on the woman?
We see a lot of men here, who are likely to buy gifts for wives. So I can see most of the men are here to buy something for their wives or as a present, and woman are here to buy products for themselves.
