A key player within the luxury industry, Matteo Marzotto has played an important role for the history and development of Italian fashion. The Rome born businessman has his family to thank for his introduction into the industry, as he’s a descendant of Marzotto SpA. The company, born in 1893 has become one of Italy’s biggest textiles group, racking in over $2 billion per year.
Now onto Mr. Marzotto; the style icon was there to reinvigorate the Valentino brand in 2002 when the company was flailing and helped transform it into the contemporary house it is today. He’s since left the company and is now President of Vionnet SpA, where he’s working to transform the brand.
Not only is he well versed in business, but you can find Matteo on the Best Dressed List of Vanity Fair, on street style blogs like The Sartorialist, and present within the film Valentino: The Last Emperor.
With Matteo at the forefront, there’s no telling what’s next for fashion.
