In 2008, the Furla Foundation was established by Giovanna Furlanetto, president of Furla S.P.A. The mission of the foundation is to support Furla’s cultural initiatives, like the Furla Art Award established in 2000 and launched in collaboration with the Querini Stampalia Foundation in Venice. Nowadays, the curator of the Furla Foundation is Chiara Bertola, art critic and curator.
Concerning the Furla Art Award, it was established to promote emerging Italian artist and developed the diverse channels of contemporary art developing on the country. All the artists participants use en represent different medium like video, photography, painting, installation, performance and sculpture.
The foundation was created on the same way to increase the awareness of the creation and the art across the country and for the different Italian artists.
The goal of the foundation corresponds to Furla’s philosophy: encourage and promote Italian culture in its various expressions, supporting the creativity of young talent and creating an area of confrontation on contemporary art and fashion design.
