Claridge’s, the quintessentially British hotel in the center of Mayfair in London has just revealed it is traditional Christmas tree, each year signed by a different fashion designer.
For those who do not know, it is a tradition in the London hotspot to invite renowned stylists to sign their decoration on special occasions. Christopher Bailey, Alber Elbaz, John Galliano and the duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have already collaborated with the hotel décor.
For 2018, Claridge´s has invited Diane von Furstenberg to design an extravagant new Christmas tree. Von Furstenberg’s “Tree of Love,” will be unveiled in the lobby on November 27, marking the ninth year Claridge’s has invited a celebrity to create the tree.
While we wait for the release, let´s have a throwback at some of the famous Christmas trees. The first famed fashion designer who designed the Claridge’s Christmas tree back in 2009 was John Galliano for Dior. His creations take a different approach to the traditional Christmas tree: his first one was a frozen tree with beautiful creatures like snow leopards, dragonflies, and parrots on it. In 2010 a magical under-the-sea tree made of sparkling silver leaves, pink coral and surrounded by maritime animals put the hotel’s lobby under a spell.
